Blogging for Profits Series Part 4: Installing a Professional WordPress Theme

If you're serious about building blogging as a business, then giving your blog a professional look isn't an option. It's an absolute must that your blog has a great look for FIVE reasons:

1. It builds credibility. It shows your visitors and your readers that you do know what you're talking about and that you know and
mean business.

2. It shows your professionalism.

3. It builds trust.

4. It attracts more visitors.

5. It shows that you care about your visitors and you want them to have a user-friendly experience on your website.

Installing a theme is as easy as 1-2-3! So watch the video below and you're on your way to having a professional blog!

Resource I Mentioned On the Screencast:
WooThemes
is a highly recommended premium WordPress theme provider. Other than the obvious fact that they have the best WordPress designs out there, they have a backend interface that makes it easy for a newbie to configure the template. They also have great customer service…their team is made up of wonderful people!

My Top Favorite WordPress Plugins:

1. FCKEditor –
This WYSIWYG editor is way better than the default one that comes with WordPress installation. Makes formatting a breeze on your blog!

2. Google Analytics – Testing and tracking is important in any business. Fortunately, Google Analytics makes that possible. This plugin allows you to integrate the Google Analytics code on your WordPress blog without actually going into your php or html page. (This plugin requires that you first must have a Google Analytics account. Sign-up at google.com/analytics.)

3. XML Sitemap – This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com to better index your blog. With such a sitemap, it's much easier for the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently.

4. Bookmarkify – A social bookmarking plugin that makes it easy for your readers and visitors to share/syndicate your content on various social networking platforms.

5. Facebook Like Button – With Facebook changing the "Become a Fan" to "Like", this wordpress plugin is definitely a must for content syndication as well. Facebook has over 400 million users and contents are so easy to get viral.

6. TweetMeme – Allows your readers to easily re-tweet your blog post. Your blog cannot be without this plug-in if you are using Twitter to promote your blog content.

7. CommentLuv – This plugin allows you to return the favor to your blog commentators by allowing them to post a link back to their latest blog post.

8. Yet Another Related Posts – Shows related posts at the bottom of each of your blog post.

9. All In One SEO Pack – Great plugin for better search engine optimization of your blog. I highly recommend this WordPress plugin for driving organic traffic to your blog.

10. Viper's Video Quicktags – Videos are a must have on any blog or business these days! This plugin makes breeze the embedding of videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler, and other video-sharing sites.

Have fun customizing your blog with a theme and these useful plugins! Hope this post is helpful and if it is, please show me some love by leaving comments below! Definitely makes me feel that my hard work is appreciated. It will also inspire me to keep providing you with valuable and useful content. *Smiles*

Until then!…
