Which Path Would You Take? You Have a Choice…
No one is exempted in facing life's challenges and sometimes while we're going through one, we think and feel we got it all bad until we look outside and realize how many million other people are going through situations that are much worse than us.
Meet Liu Wei who lost his arms in an electrocution accident when he was 10 years old. His dream is to become a musician but all of that seemed to have vanished you would think when he lost his upper limbs. Not for Liu Wei. At the age of 19, he learned to play the piano even after one piano teacher told him that he would never succeed. Recently, at the age of 23, he became the champion of China's Got Talent.
I love Liu Wei's attitude. He looked at himself and his life and made a positive decision. He quoted: "There are only 2 paths in my life for me – either to die as fast as possible, or to live as brilliant a life as I could." Rather than dwelling in self-pity and thinking it's the end of his dreams, he did something about his situation and used it to propel him to his dreams.
He never let his lack stop him from becoming the musician that he wants to be. I love when he said "There is no rule saying that you can't do things with your feet." He's right…to add to that, there's no rule saying that you can't be that person you want to be just because you lack something.
Watch the video below and be inspired…(sorry I can't find one with English subtitles).
You have powers you never dreamed of. You can do things you never thought you could do. There are no limitations in what you can do except the limitations of your own mind.
Until then!…
